The June issue of CQ is our annual "Take it to the Field" special and this year, we literally take you all over the world, from the coast of Maine to a sub-Antarctic island populated mostly by penguins. This year's articles not only take you "to the field," but also to the water, from a lakeshore in Albania to the Columbia River in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and the open ocean in two articles on cruise ship operating. In addition, we've got plans for building a sturdy portable antenna platform and tips on storing your radio's operating manual on your smartphone!
It's not all hiking and biking and sailing, though. We've also got the results of last year's CQ DX Marathon, news of two new sources for QRP (low-power) kits, a challenge to explore the communication possibilities of the upper end of the electromagnetic spectrum and an introduction to emergency and public service communications.
